Claire Mitchell

Claire is a user research specialist, with a background in user-centred design and product strategy. She helps organisations and teams to understand the people who use their services.

She has been working on people-centred projects for over 18 years and holds a Master of Science in Human-Computer Interaction from University College London.

She has experience across the financial services and charity sectors, as well as extensive experience in the UK’s public sector. She has worked with the Ministry of Justice, Government Digital Service and NHS.UK.

Claire hopes to help challenge, dispel or confirm the assumptions we all make about how people access and use things. She loves getting product and service teams involved in how people really live, work and play, and using that understanding to shape what we do next.

Ask Claire about:

  • uncovering people’s motivations, barriers, successes and work-arounds
  • how to do as much research as possible in the circumstances
  • communicating insights to fast-moving delivery teams
  • painting a picture of real-world product and service use
